MyFitnessPal is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their health goals through innovative tools and resources. They are seeking a Director of Product Design to lead their core product experience, providing strategic direction and enhancing design quality across teams.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and driving design quality for a team of talented Product Designers
- In this role, you will be a key member of a cross-functional leadership team, working together with your counterparts in Product Management and Engineering to guide the team to build products that address real customer needs
- You will serve as a thought leader and partner, both internally and externally, championing design as a catalyst for strategic growth
- Transform ambiguity into clarity, leveraging your expertise and design process to establish structure
- You proactively plan, anticipate challenges, and envision the next steps, even when they’re not immediately clear
- Inspire and lead, driving innovation, exploration, and a high-performance mindset while fostering continuous learning, curiosity, and a sense of urgency in delivering transformative results
- Think strategically, framing designs within the broader customer experience, while also being adept at diving into detailed execution
- Gain alignment by sharing work to stakeholders and executive leaders, facilitating review and gathering feedback
- Act as a strategic partner, collaborating across departments to ensure design aligns seamlessly across the holistic user experience
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Product Design with at least 5+ years of leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership, including hiring and developing talent
- Demonstrated experience leading high-velocity Design teams to have meaningful impact on the customer and the business
- Extensive experience leading consumer-facing Product Design design teams focused on native iOS and Android apps
- Ability to create design direction and processes that balance small design iterations with larger experience changes to improve the end-to-end experience and achieve goals
- A strong bias-to-action to address challenges, build and test products, and learn from failures and successes
- Analytical approach to Design work, incorporating qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decision making and measure outcomes
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
