About this role
Very is a fully distributed technology firm that specializes in creating efficient and scalable solutions for commercial, industrial, and consumer products. As a Lead Mechatronics Engineer, you will work with hardware engineers to deliver high-value electro-mechanical system designs, focusing on improving hardware engineering processes to align with modern development methods.
Responsibilities:
- Work a target of 38 hours per week on a Very client engagement
- Serve as a Tech Lead overseeing the technical delivery on Very’s client engagements
- Oversee and/or design electronic/mechanical hardware for Very’s client engagements
- Serve as a technical interviewer in Very’s interview process
- Support sales in sales activities and statement of work generation
- Work with the Director of Hardware to improve standards and processes for hardware delivery
Requirements:
- BS or higher in a related engineering field (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc)
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Previous experience designing and testing electro-mechanical systems
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) practices for electrical and mechanical
- Familiarity with microprocessors, microcontrollers, IoT communications protocols, and common sensors
- Familiarity with hardware prototyping tools (3D printers, soldering, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, etc)
- Familiarity with low-level embedded firmware or embedded Linux
- Familiarity with data collection techniques
- Must be US-based
- 10+ years of experience
- M.S.+ in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or closely related field
