Utility Project Manager

KGDR Consultants Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in utility development to lead various utility projects. The role involves managing project delivery, coordinating with multiple teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end to end project delivery across utility development projects including transmission, distribution, substation, renewable energy, and grid modernization
• Lead project planning, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, permitting, environmental, real estate, and field teams to ensure all project milestones are met
• Review design packages, construction drawings, outage plans, and technical submittals
• Track project progress through schedules, cost reports, and status dashboards
• Oversee contractor performance, change orders, invoices, and procurement of materials
• Facilitate project meetings and communication between internal teams, clients, and external agencies
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed
• Support forecasting, reporting, and project closeout documentation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
• 5 to 10 years of project management experience in utilities, energy, or infrastructure
• Strong understanding of utility design, construction sequencing, and permitting processes
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload in a fast paced environment
• PMP certification is preferred but not required
• Experience coordinating outages or working with transmission and distribution systems is a plus
• Familiarity with utility standards and processes such as QAQC, commissioning, and energization
• Strong problem solving ability, attention to detail, and financial acumen
