DwyerOmega is seeking a Junior Analytics Engineer to join their Business Intelligence team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals eager to learn and grow their skills on a modern data platform, involving responsibilities such as building data pipelines and supporting analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, OneLake)
- Support data ingestion from various sources into analytics-ready datasets
- Write and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries and PySpark
- Help prepare data for Power BI reports and dashboards
- Perform data validation and quality checks
- Troubleshoot simple data pipeline and data issues with guidance
- Document data processes and learn platform best practices
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Translate business requirements into data models and visualizations
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and validate data
- Create and maintain Power BI data models, DAX measures, and calculated fields
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure report accuracy
Requirements:
- 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related technical role (internships, academic projects, or bootcamp experience are welcome)
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with data concepts (ETL, data pipelines, data models)
- Understanding of data modeling concepts
- Familiarity with DAX fundamentals (measures, calculated columns)
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new tools and technologies
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of SQL queries, Python or Py-Spark
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Academic or project experience with BI or analytics and AI
- Understanding of data warehousing fundamentals
- Power BI certification (PL-300) or working toward it
