Applications Engineer/Specialist, South West USA

AMETEK is a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions, and they are seeking an Applications Engineer/Specialist to join their team. The role involves helping customers overcome technical challenges using Virtek solutions, creating CAD layouts, providing product demonstrations, and training customers on laser-based systems.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the top leading manufactures in Aerospace, Industrial fabrication, Wind Energy, Pre-Fabricated Construction, and other industries to understand and innovate their processes using laser projection & inspection systems
• Create 3D CAD layouts and technical proposals that show how Virtek’s solutions are best applied in customer’s work cells
• Provide demonstrations of our products and present Virtek’s value propositions at tradeshows and customer sites
• Train customers on various laser-based projection and inspection systems
• Provide detailed accounts of customer applications and take part in data collection for new product development & bug reporting/resolution
• Maintain proper reporting and data entry within company CRM/business systems
• Be aware of competitive technologies and how to position products and services against them
• Do your part to support the global team

Requirements:

• University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer or other) or equivalent
• Extensive experience with CAD programs like SolidWorks
• Demonstrated ability to read technical documentation including wiring diagrams
• Software programing and scripting experience
• Previous experience with product presentations or working with sales teams/clients is an asset
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work at heights ranging from 1.6-15m
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools
• Travel requirement: 50%, some weekend travel maybe required
