THE OPPORTUNITY
The KIPP Texas Public School Operations Division is looking for contract help to provide support for schools in four different paths (Information Technology, Curriculum Warehouse, Student Recruitment, and School Operations). This will be a 1-3 month internship as needed, working directly at the school campuses.
The Information Technology (IT) Intern will:
Work on a team to collect, image, refresh and assign Chromebooks
Delivery, removal, and maintenance of Chromebooks, PCs and related peripherals.
Load and unload trucks for the movement of devices
Unbox, configure, and setup Chromebooks
Clean computer equipment and peripherals.
Move, assemble, disassemble, and clean computer furniture.
Hardware upgrades include replacing computer components such as hard drives, memory and video cards.
Take apart and put back devices and power cords in Chromebook carts;
Image computers.
Electronic filing and data entry in document management systems;
Update site inventory.
Interacts with students, parents, and staff in a positive, friendly and encouraging manner.
Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
Knows and follows school policy and chain of command.
Performs such duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Will be required to work and travel from multiple school sites
Must be able to lift 25 pounds
EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
Intern I - internship for currently enrolled KIPP Texas students
Intern II - internship for candidates with a HS diploma
SKILLS
Ability to organize, plan and carry out complex assignments
Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines and firm schedules
Ability to effectively express KIPP’s mission and purpose to candidates
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy required
Excellent organizational skills required
