SVP of R&D - Retail Pro

Retail Pro International (RPI) is a global leader in retail management software, serving retailers in 80+ countries with scalable, enterprise-grade solutions. Following its acquisition by Nayax in 2023, RPI is entering its next phase of accelerated growth, platform modernization, and global expansion.

We are seeking a transformational SVP of R&D to lead and scale our global engineering organization. This executive will drive technology modernization, increase product velocity, and build a world-class R&D engine capable of supporting aggressive growth, platform evolution, and enterprise scalability.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring both strategic vision and operational rigor. The ideal candidate has built and scaled high-performing global R&D organizations, modernized complex platforms, and delivered innovation at speed within enterprise SaaS environments.

The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to reshape and modernize a globally deployed platform, elevate engineering standards, and directly influence enterprise growth at scale. The SVP of R&D will be instrumental in positioning RPI for its next stage of innovation and market expansion.

• Strengthen architectural standards across distributed and event-driven systems.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Product, Commercial, and Executive leadership to reduce time-to-market.
• Elevate engineering talent, leadership bench strength, and succession depth.
• Foster a high-performance culture defined by urgency, ownership, innovation, and execution excellence.

Requirements

• Proven success as an SVP of R&D, VP Engineering, or senior R&D leader within a global SaaS or enterprise software company.
• Demonstrated track record scaling R&D organizations through growth, integration, or transformation.
• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud-native ecosystems, and distributed systems.
• Experience modernizing legacy platforms into scalable, resilient, high-availability architectures.
• Strong command of agile, DevOps, and engineering performance metrics.
• Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence at Board and C-suite levels.
• Commercial acumen — able to translate engineering execution into measurable business impact.
