Staff Accountant - Billing Specialist

Position Summary:

The Staff Accounting Billing Specialist is responsible for generating accurate invoices and insuring timely collection of accounts receivable related to services provided to Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). This role focuses on accurate billing, timely collections, and resolution of outstanding balances. The specialist works closely with facility administrators, corporate billing teams, and internal departments to reconcile accounts, resolve disputes, and improve cash flow performance.

Location:

This is an On-Site role, located at our headquarters in Henderson, NV. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue service invoices to SNF clients in accordance with contract terms.
• Review service logs, census data, and contractual rate schedules to ensure billing accuracy.
• Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding SNF accounts.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and disputes.
• Reconcile account statements and apply payments accurately.
• Coordinate with facility administrators, AP departments, and corporate offices regarding payment status.
• Maintain detailed documentation of collection efforts and account communications.
• Assist with month-end AR reconciliation and reporting.
• Identify trends in payment delays and recommend workflow improvements.
• Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and company billing policies.
• Adhere to all applicable company policies, practices, and procedures to maintain compliance with organizational standards.
• Adhere to mandatory reporting standards, and company compliance requirements including but not limited to actively participating in investigations, audits, and monitoring activities as required.
• Performing additional tasks, duties, and assignments as specified by your supervisor.

Required Skills:

• 5 to 7+ years of experience in accounts receivable, service billing, or collections.
• Experience working with B2B collections.
• Strong understanding of contract-based billing.
• Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to interpret contracts, rate sheets, and service agreements.
• Ability to communicate with and build relationships with customers and executives in a professional manner.
• Ability to track communications, payments, and outstanding balances in an organized manner.
• Analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Problem-solving and dispute resolution.
• Time management and follow-up discipline.
• Results driven with focus on reducing AR days.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• 5 to 7+ years of experience in accounts receivable, service billing, or collections.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially excel) and accounting software (e.g. SAP) Sage Intacct preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Pay:

• Between $60,000 and $70,000 annually
