About the Role
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - employed by Esri Australia - you will lead the finance function across Boustead Geospatial (BG) which includes our companies: Esri Australia, Esri Malaysia, Esri Indonesia, Esri Singapore Esri Bangladesh and Cartinuum.
You will partner with senior leaders to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and strong governance. With Workday embedded across the organisation, this role requires a hands-on approach to driving financial discipline, continuous improvement, and trusted decision support.
You will work collaboratively with finance leaders across the region and play a key role in evolving group-wide priorities including intercompany charging/transfer pricing reviews and strengthening revenue recognition practices.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Lead end-to-end finance operations and reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Partner with finance leaders to deliver consistent reporting and strong collaboration across all companies.
- Oversee and optimise the use of Workday to support efficient close, real-time management reporting, and ongoing process improvements.
- Provide leadership across corporate functions within the role scope, working effectively with direct reports across finance, systems, legal/commercial, ITS and business support.
- Drive key commercial and technical finance initiatives, including intercompany charging/transfer pricing follow-up (with external advisors where/if engaged).
- Progress revenue recognition improvements to support a scalable and compliant approach as the business evolves.
- Act as risk champion, consolidating inputs from all companies and delivering quarterly risk reporting and continuous improvement actions.
- Engage confidently with diverse stakeholders, constructively challenging where needed while maintaining a balanced, pragmatic leadership style.
- Travel across the region periodically to support budgeting cycles, governance, and relationship-building (typically at least once per year, and more as business needs require).
About You
We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded CFO to lead our finance function across Boustead Geospatial. If you enjoy partnering with leaders, building strong relationships across the business, and balancing strategic direction with hands-on delivery - this could be the right role for you.
To be successful you will need to bring along:
- Demonstrated CFO experience (ideally 5+ years) leading finance in a complex, multi-entity environment, ideally in the IT/Technology sector.
- Strong technical accounting capability and working knowledge of relevant accounting standards, with a commitment to integrity and high-quality reporting.
- Proven ability to drive accurate, timely financial reporting and support sound decision-making across the business.
- Hands-on experience with modern ERP/finance systems (Workday experience preferred) and comfort operating in a highly system-enabled environment.
- Experience overseeing key finance priorities such as revenue recognition and intercompany/transfer pricing considerations.
- Confident, collaborative stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively across diverse views.
- Leadership capability across finance and adjacent functions, with a focus on continuous improvement and team engagement.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across the region (e.g., Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Bangladesh) as required.
- You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
