Brooksource is seeking a Network Engineer to support the transformation of hybrid-cloud infrastructure for a Fortune 200 Energy Generation client. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, particularly in Azure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support hybrid cloud network infrastructure with a focus on Azure
- Collaborate with cloud architects and security teams to ensure secure and scalable network designs
- Support integration efforts related to the ongoing merger, including Azure-based network expansion
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure
- Manage and optimize F5 load balancers and Fortinet security appliances
- Implement and support SD-WAN solutions across enterprise locations
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues across cloud and on-prem environments
- Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide escalation support as needed
- Travel occasionally domestically will be required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking (VNETs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, NSGs, Azure Firewall, etc.)
- Strong experience with Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, wireless)
- Experience with F5 Load Balancers (LTM, GTM)
- Experience or understanding of Fortinet firewalls and security appliances
- SD-WAN technologies
- Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls a plus
- Familiarity with Cisco ISE, NDFC, and NDI is a plus
- Cisco CCNP and/or higher level Cisco certifications preferred
- Solid understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
