Hagerty is an automotive enthusiast brand dedicated to preserving car culture for future generations. As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for driving design projects, collaborating with product managers and engineers, and ensuring user experiences are valuable and easy to use.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and deliver design projects of large and ambiguous scope
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our members
- Drive a partnership with product managers, engineers, and business partners to oversee the user experience of a product from conception through launch
- Design flows and experiences that are simple, helpful, and elegant
- Design new experiences that evolve and define visual systems
- Give and solicit meaningful feedback from design/product teams to continuously improve the quality of your work, and the work of the design team
- Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Hagerty products
- Willingness to present work to a broader team of product and business leaders. Clearly and succinctly articulating goals, customer/business problems, and design concepts
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience building and shipping features or products that are broad/ambiguous in scope and encompass an end-to-end experience across a variety of platforms
- Demonstrated interaction design experience with the ability to define how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs, business objectives, and consideration for how an experience will scale. Use of appropriate prototyping tools to demonstrate how a particular flow or interaction will work
- Demonstrated visual design experience with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function
- Evidence of strategic product thinking with the ability to develop product goals, identify opportunities and make decisions based on the impact on people and the company
- Ability to showcase your end-to-end design process across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Ability to connect your work with other related initiatives across the company while driving collaboration
- Examples of leadership in non-product dimensions that have made the team stronger and positively impacted the work environment
- Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable
