The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join their team. The role involves managing enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives and overseeing all aspects of the software development lifecycle for large and complex IT and business projects.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with architects to ensure alignment
- Directly manage all aspects of the application development project lifecycle and work with leadership partners to oversee all phases of the project
- Analyze current business processes to identify inefficiencies
- Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within the agreed upon time, cost and quality parameters
- Create realistic project and quality plans that include project interdependencies
- Analyze, diagnose, design, plan, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets
- Estimate costs, time and resource requirements
- Track all activities against the project plan, monitor budget, schedule and resources used and take action where deviation from agreed tolerances occurs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement
- Identify, assess and manage risk to the success of the project
- Identify, assess and manage issues and escalate them to mitigate impact to overall project viability
- Provide regular and accurate status reports to project sponsor, project executives and senior management
- Participate in procurement management, including contract negotiations and wording
- Motivate team members and provide individual performance data to resource managers for associate development and reviews
- Operate phase containment by ensuring all deliverables for the phase are produced and meet agreed upon quality criteria, and lessons learned are gathered and documented
- Collaborate with other managers within the business units to manage expectations
- Assist in recovery of challenged projects
Requirements:
- five or more years of recent IT project management experience, including software development as well as the management of large, strategic initiatives
- ability to quickly earn the trust of others, set direction and approach, resolve conflicts, deliver difficult messages with grace and act with limited information and ambiguity

- proficiency in data analysis and process mapping tools
- familiar with managing large multi-million-dollar projects involving more than 15 team members on efforts with significant business implications across multiple areas
- SharePoint experience
- experience managing iterative projects
- qualified candidates have a bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience
- Project Management Professional Certification preferred
