The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data to facilitate strategic business decisions, working closely with stakeholders to improve business processes and performance through data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, scrub, and analyze data
- Work directly with key stakeholders to understand the business environment, business processes and procedures, and organization objectives
- Evaluate business processes for efficiency, cost, and other value metrics, communicating insights with business teams
- Prepare and present recommendations for process adjustments, procedures, and performance improvements
- Translate business needs into technical and data-driven solutions
- Perform standardized data collection, data compilation, data integrity checks, and data analysis using query and reporting analysis tools
- Extract data from databases and data warehouses in preparation for data system sharing, analysis, and reporting using SQL
- Present and communicate extracted data using business intelligence tools such as Power BI
- Design validation reports, databases, and presentation reports using Microsoft Excel
- Troubleshoot potential and known issues
- Work independently in support of objectives
Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related field. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience for Bachelor's degree
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience
- Must be highly proficient with SQL, both in coding queries and procedures and interpretation of code
- Must be highly proficient with either Tableau or Power BI analysis tools
- Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Must have experience in mathematical optimization modeling techniques
- Must have strong accounting knowledge and financial acumen related to budgets and financial statements
- Must have strong collaboration skills to develop a firm understanding of the organization's objectives, procedures, and operations
- Must have the ability to evaluate business processes and translate business needs into technical and data-driven solutions
- Must have critical thinking and strategic business skills
- Must have the ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate, concise recommendations in oral, written, and visual formats
- Must have strong conceptual, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Must have a strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling and database design
- Must be able to learn new software applications with minimal instruction
- Must be a self-starter, high-level producer with strong communication skills. Must be able to independently address complex problems and independently respond to data analysis and reporting requirements
- Must have the ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings, as appropriate
