Kforce Inc is seeking a Remote Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer to join their global technology organization. This role involves designing and operating scalable cloud infrastructure, collaborating with product and engineering teams, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and operate scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure for a major SaaS platform
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering to translate ambiguity into clear milestones and progress
- Lead lightweight standups or async check-ins and manage work tracking in Jira with strong acceptance criteria
- Support and optimize cloud-native microservices environments
- Implement automation, robust monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Own and enhance CI/CD pipelines to drive efficiency and deployment velocity
- Strengthen systems with industry-standard security best practices
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for mission-critical environments
- Proactively identify potential infrastructure issues and implement preventative solutions
- Manage Linux (and optionally Windows) environments at scale
- Continuously assess existing systems and recommend improvements
- Partner with multiple agile teams to deliver end-to-end features from concept to launch
- Act as DRI for assigned initiatives, ensuring delivery and cross-functional alignment
- Support operational excellence including incident response, patching, and reliability initiatives
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role
- Experience running standups or async workflows with well-defined acceptance criteria
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TravisCI
- Deep hands-on expertise with cloud technologies: Compute (EC2, VMs), load balancing, auto-scaling; Cloud storage (S3, Blob); Container services (ECS), Kubernetes (EKS); IAM and VPC networking
- Familiarity with configuration management (Ansible, Chef)
- Strong foundational networking knowledge including subnetting, routing, and VPC design
- Solid system administration background (Linux required, Windows optional)
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tooling such as Datadog, PagerDuty, and CloudWatch
- Proficient with Git or similar version control systems
- Strong communication skills; Able to deliver crisp updates tailored to any audience
- Skilled in coaching and unblocking others without formal authority
- Strong scripting abilities with Bash and Python
- Proven ability to turn ambiguous work into structured plans with clear owners and dates
