Description
This position is responsible for the successful execution of production planning, scheduling, and the end-to-end order fulfillment process. The Supply Chain Manager leads the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning, providing continuous improvement, standardization, and digitalization of the sub-routines.
The role acts as a resource to support our SAP ERP, and has ownership master data, IBP forecasting and analytics, and order processing. This is a high-visibility role requiring a data-driven leader who can apply advanced optimization techniques to ensure customer satisfaction while controlling supply chain costs and working capital commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning
- Oversee development of monthly forecasts using SAP-IBP, and SAP order transactions.
- Review, approve, and report out on development of long-term capacity planning.
- Review, approve, and report out on execution of process order scheduling.
- Review, approve, and report out on inventory planning and procurement requirements.
- Analyze performance of the plant using SAP analytics and take action to correct deviations from strategy.
- Improve and standardize workflows and improve upon implementation of SAP ERP.
- Customer Service and Logistics
- Ensure compliance of hazardous goods shipments to DOT/IATA regulations.
- Review weekly open orders and take action to ensure on-time delivery.
- Support customer service, product management, and account managers to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage third party logistic accounts, seeking to optimize service, complexity, and cost.
- Inventory Management
- Establish inventory strategy for product-package combinations based on forecasts, product segmentation, and customer segmentation.
- Lead plant inventory team, analyzing slow moving and obsolete materials and providing guidance for disposition.
- Review stocks to ensure compliance with PSM/RMP requirements.
- Lead annual physical inventory count and reconciliation.
- SAP ERP Management
- Maintain and improve product master data, such as material masters, bills of materials, production routings, and resource set-up.
- Support commercial team with SAP-IBP forecasting activities.
- Act as a troubleshooting resource for procurement, planning, inventory management, and logistic transactions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Reduce administrative burden of SAP ERP system through improved interface, transaction training, and automation of workflows.
- Apply applicable ASCM best practices of Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment.
- Reduce waste generation and changeover time through improved planning and campaign management.
- Lead all Logistics related rejected and returned product investigations.
- Analyze production capacity constraints, seeking to optimize asset intensity with the cash conversion cycle.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
· Direct experience with SAP scheduling, procurement, and master data functions.· 5+ years working in an operations planning or supply chain environment.
o Participation in SIOP process in a chemical manufacturing setting.
o Direct experience in batch chemical production planning and execution.
· Experience in inventory management and inventory reconciliation.· Experience in managing third party logistics of hazardous materials.· Prior training on DOT/IATA requirements for hazardous goods.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Demonstrated ability to apply concepts such as EOQ Product Wheels, Newsvendor Model, and Mixed-Integer Optimization to the supply chain planning process.· ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or CTSC certifications.· Demonstrated application of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts in a batch chemical environment.· Demonstrated experience connecting SAP reports to financial statement analysis.
Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Engineering, or another related field desired.
