Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Supervisor and/or designate, the Technologist is responsible for providing EKG services throughout the Centre using an electrocardiograph to record standard tracings, rhythm strips and special leads, some of which may require special techniques, according to established protocols. The Technologist is also responsible for providing support services to the Stress Lab and the hook up of Holter Monitoring equipment.

Experience

• A minimum of one-year recent related experience preferred. 
• Stress Lab experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Successful completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program required.
• Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) certification exam required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Must be certified by and maintain current registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists, Inc.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases.
• May be exposed to extreme client injuries.
• Physical demands involve walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
