How can you make a difference?
The Health and Nutrition Officer reports directly to the Chief of Field Office, with dotted functional reporting lines to technical Section’s chief for guidance and support on specialized health HIV and nutrition interventions. The role places particular emphasis on strengthening health and community systems, including immunization in emergencies. The Health and Nutrition Officer provides technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the Health and Nutrition programming process, supporting routine immunization and campaigns as applicable. The Officer prepares, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Health and Nutrition programs portfolio, including surveillance, preparedness and response to vaccine-preventable diseases (with a focus on poliovirus detection and response, cholera, measles), Mpox, and accompany the effective nutrition and health clusters transition to sector coordination.

Minimum requirements:
Education: A university degree in one of the following fields is required:
- University degree in Public Health and Nutrition, Child Development, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.
- Additional relevant postgraduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are an asset. Formal training in cluster coordination is an advantage.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of two years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of Health and Nutrition-related programmes in developing countries is required. Experience in cluster/sector coordination, emergency settings and health and nutrition program/project development in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
- Professional work experience in a programme management function or a technical expert capacity in child survival & development.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
