Software Engineer

Snapsheet is a claims technology company focused on delivering purposeful and precise outcomes in cloud-based claims management and virtual vehicle appraisals. They are seeking a Software Engineer to join the Virtual Appraisals Team, responsible for improving their internal claims platform through automation and collaboration with the operations team.

Responsibilities:

• Build new feature workflows for Snapsheet's operations team
• Create dashboards to provide insights into the effectiveness of our projects and workflows
• Contribute to technical design processes and provide improvement suggestions and feedback
• Play an influential role in growing Snapsheet to be the industry leader in technology
• Work in an agile environment and participate in weekly stand-ups, retrospectives, etc
• Proactively challenge scopes, flag issues, and suggest alternatives
• Collaborating with other engineers, product management, and design to identify and solve complex problems

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field a plus
• 1+ years of full-stack focused web development experience including:
• Building applications using React and Redux or a similar frontend framework
• Designing and building APIs
• Experience with relational databases, designing schemas, and writing performant SQL queries
• Experience with AWS infrastructure
• Understanding of scalability challenges and performance of server-side code
• Eagerness to learn from and work with a collaborative team
• Commitment to quality and passion for technology and creating cutting-edge solutions
• Ability to manage tasks and to contribute towards multiple initiatives during a sprint
• Prior experience using Ruby on Rails a plus
