Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations. They are seeking a DevOps Engineer to modernize a multi-cloud environment in support of U.S. Air Force system resiliency and security. The role involves technical planning, design, and development of secure cloud-native systems, along with supporting DevSecOps practices across various cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, and requirements allocation for cloud-based and hybrid environments
- Design, implement, and support secure CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, scalable software delivery
- Support the integration of DevSecOps pipelines across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Develop, maintain, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- Deploy, configure, integrate, and support applications within cloud and hybrid environments
- Assist with the configuration, operation, and sustainment of container platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift
- Analyze and support system availability, scalability, performance, and resiliency across distributed cloud systems
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, system upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts
- Implement and support automated security capabilities including vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, container security, and compliance automation
- Monitor system health using logging and monitoring tools and support incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution
- Support verification, validation, system testing, and quality assurance activities for cloud-based solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with developers, QA, security, operations, and customer stakeholders to influence solution design, processes, and technical approaches
- Apply and enforce established DevSecOps standards, systems engineering processes, and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Secret clearance required
- U.S. citizenship required
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (IAT Level II)
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and DevSecOps practices
- Experience supporting or administering cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, Java, Go)
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking fundamentals, and version control (Git)
- Strong collaboration, communication, and customer service skills
- Experience supporting DoD or USAF cloud environments (e.g., Cloud One, Platform One)
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures and security concepts
- Cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK
- Exposure to security scanning tools, compliance frameworks, and DevSecOps automation
- Industry certifications such as CKAD, KCNA, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS SysAdmin, AWS Advanced Networking, AWS Security, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect
