Optimum Healthcare IT is a leading provider of healthcare technology consulting services, specializing in Epic and digital transformation. They are seeking a highly skilled EHR Solutions Engineer to lead pre-sales strategy and solution design for Epic and other healthcare IT initiatives, building strong client relationships and developing high-quality project plans.
Responsibilities:
- Lead discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand strategic goals, operational challenges, Epic environments, and project needs
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare organizations, ensuring alignment between client needs and Optimum’s service offerings
- Architect tailored Epic consulting solutions—including project approaches, recommended team structures, timelines, and delivery strategies
- Assist pre-project teams with assessments, scoping, and resourcing models to ensure thoughtful, accurate project planning
- Translate business and clinical challenges into effective consulting strategies that support successful Epic projects
- Lead the creation of RFP responses, proposals, SOWs, and sales collateral that articulate the value of our Epic consulting solutions
- Support the sales team with expert insight during client meetings, presentations, and strategic conversations
- Ensure solution designs are accurate, competitive, and aligned with industry standards and Epic best practices
- Partner closely with delivery leadership, customer success, and executive teams to create seamless handoffs from pre-sales to project kickoff
- Develop and refine scalable sales processes, tools, and templates, including scoping calculators, proposal frameworks, and internal request workflows
- Provide insight into market trends, client needs, and emerging opportunities to support strategic growth
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Epic ecosystem, certification updates, implementation methodologies, and healthcare industry trends
- Advise internal and external stakeholders on Epic functionality, project types, best practices, and delivery considerations
Requirements:
- 5+ years working with the Epic platform in implementation, optimization, project management, or delivery leadership roles
- Minimum 2 years in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions consulting capacity
- Strong understanding of Epic modules, project types, implementation methodologies, and cross-application workflows
- Familiarity with healthcare operations, clinical workflows, IT governance, and regulatory considerations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated success in supporting enterprise-level sales activities, including discovery, solutioning, and proposal development
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to create strategic, value-focused solutions
- Proven success facilitating cross-functional discussions and incorporating input from diverse stakeholders
- Master's degree preferred
- Previous Epic certification(s) strongly preferred
