Engineer III - Overhead Transmission Line Design

Qualus is a leading pure-play power solutions firm focused on power infrastructure transformation. They are seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to design and create construction drawings for overhead transmission design projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design overhead transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range
• Prepare construction sketches for overhead network services (4 KV through 34 KV)
• Perform structural analysis and design, perform foundation designs
• Model transmission lines in PLS-CADD, determine right of way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop transmission line plan and profile drawings
• Review vendor submittals

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited school
• 4-6 years of experience in overhead transmission design
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office product applications, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MFAD or similar
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, having high attention to detail
• Great communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers
• Great computer skills
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Must possess valid driver's license
• PE license is a plus
