Responsibilities and Duties - School
- A school-based behavioral assistant, provided by KCT to partner schools, typically has several roles and responsibilities aimed at supporting students with behavioral needs. Here are some typical duties:
- Behavioral Support: Provide direct support to students with behavioral challenges, implementing strategies outlined in their individualized plans (such as behavior intervention plans or IEPs).
- Observation and Reporting: Monitor and observe student behavior in various settings (classroom, playground, cafeteria) to assess triggers and patterns. Document behavioral incidents and progress.
- Implement Behavior Plans: Follow through with interventions and strategies designed by behavior specialists or therapists to promote positive behavior and skill development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other school personnel to coordinate efforts and ensure consistency in implementing behavioral strategies across different environments.
- Data Collection: Maintain accurate records of student behavior, progress, and responses to interventions. This data helps in evaluating effectiveness and making necessary adjustments to strategies.
- Crisis Intervention: Assist in de-escalating situations when students exhibit challenging behaviors that may pose a risk to themselves or others. Implement crisis management techniques as per school protocols.
Responsibilities and Duties - Clinical
- Providing individual and group ABA intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Implementation of treatment and behavior plans under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor (BCBA)
- Guide skill acquisition and behavior management in clinic and classroom settings for assigned clients in-line with Today’s ABA principles
- Complete accurate, real-time data collection via various documentation mediums
- Participate in ongoing training, staff development, and continuing education for professional growth
- Provide summary of client’s therapy day at pick-up
- Achieve and maintain RBT certification
- Collaboration with other service providers (ST, OT, PT)

K1ds Count Therapy is seeking a School-Based Behavioral Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at K1ds Count Therapy. K1ds Count Therapy is an Indiana-based, owner-operated organization providing pediatric services since 2014. Join a team of 300+ RBTs, BAs, outpatient therapists (ST, OT, PT, MH), administrative specialists, and leaders serving our centers in Brownsburg, Carmel, Crawfordsville, Zionsville, and school partners in the area. K1ds Count Therapy has state-of-the-art facilities with spacious treatment rooms, gyms, and acres of playground and green space. The role will mainly be school-based during the school year with opportunities to support the clinical environment on breaks.
