ADP is hiring a Sr. Tax Counsel
We are seeking to hire a tax attorney to advise on various aspects of ADP’s global tax strategy, inclusive of federal, state and international tax. Critical to this role is the ability to operate in a matrixed environment as this role will partner closely with leaders throughout the organization. This person should be embraced by senior leadership as a trusted business and strategic advisor and whose opinion is sought and respected.
What you’ll do: Responsibilities
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of strategies to effectively manage taxes while mitigating risk.
- Monitor global tax legislation changes and provide technical evaluation of proposed or enacted legislation and recommendations for minimizing any adverse impacts.
- Oversee ADP’s transfer pricing matters ensuring strategic compliance and adapting policies to changing business needs.
- Support business in all M&A including overseeing due diligence, contract negotiations and advising on post-acquisition implementation matters.
- Support US and non-US tax audits including providing input on audit strategy and liaising with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
- Support ADP in business initiatives or transactions.
- Maintain readiness for new legislation and changes in tax laws, such as Pillar II.
- Be a key, strategic business partner who brings their tax acumen to help solve issues and identify opportunities.
- Manage two direct reports.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school.
- L.L.M. preferred but not required.
- 4+ years of detailed technical knowledge of tax law and the ability to apply such knowledge in a practical, strategic and compliant manner.
- Strong analytical ability and judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to interface effectively with associate at all levels of ADP management and external advisors.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with ability to manage projects to completion and anticipate issues that may arise.
- International experience preferred.
- Position will be based in Roseland, New Jersey.
