Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for planning and completion of all aspects of the general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance. The role is responsible for establishing the organization’s accounting principles, practices, and procedures and creating a strong internal control environment. Incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive financial updates and maintaining financial controls and guidelines to comply with local, federal, and GAAP principles. The role will have direct interaction with the Project Finance Manager and Accounting Staff to ensure timely completion of the closing process and delivery of accurate financial records in accordance with U.S GAAP. The role is a key member of the Finance Leadership team and will have interactions with Management and other Leaders throughout the organization.
Controller Responsibilities:
- Complete weekly review of cash forecasting for lenders
- Oversee monthly closing of general ledger in accordance with U.S GAAP
- Manage Corporate accounts such as goodwill, debt, taxes, fixed assets, and intercompany activities as part of the monthly closing process
- Complete monthly variance analysis for actual results versus budget, prior year, and forecast.
- Compile and prepare annual expense budget
- Prepare monthly commission files for Commercial and Delivery teams. Calculate quarterly and year end commission reconciliation, including calculation of clawbacks, if any.
- Participate in monthly expense forecasting with the Finance team
- Achieve financial KPI’s as noted by CFO.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages and ensure Lender reporting compliance.
- Manage and develop a team of finance professionals providing effective leadership, guidance and support for growth and efficiency
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures across all programs adhering to national and local legal standards, US GAAP guidelines in a primarily Time & Materials business.
- Continually seek improvement opportunities with revenue, cost management
- Serve as liaison to the company’s insurance broker and carriers across all lines of coverage, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk strategy. Partner with Executive Leadership, HR, and Operations to assess enterprise risk exposures and structure appropriate risk transfer solutions.
- Establish and maintain internal control environment to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflows.
- Prepare Purchase Accounting and Opening Balance Sheet for acquisitions
- Research Accounting Standards and tax requirements for Operations
- Coordinates annual 401(k) audits
- Coordinate annual external audit and tax requirements, including K1’s, state tax accounts etc.
- Review of quarterly and annual tax returns
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA designation required
- 8 + years of relevant experience; public accounting experience is preferred
- Experience with $100M+ business preferred,
- Salesforce/Financial Force Experience a plus
- Strong technical accounting skills, thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation
- Experience with M & A, primarily on the integration side
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration and organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail
- Experience and knowledge of professional services, consulting or engineering type industry preferred
- Experience with cash management
- Agile and adaptable with the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of professionals
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience working with foreign subsidiaries preferred (IFRS not necessary)
Supervisory Requirements:
- Incumbent may have up to four direct reports with a total staff of eight reports

The actual salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, market demand, and competitive market practice. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
