13The Role:
The Chief of Staff (CoS), works directly for and will report to the Chief Communications Officer, supporting the overall effectiveness and organization of the Communications team both internally and externally. The CoS is a critical role in the Communications team, providing support to the team and delivering excellence in an exciting, fast-paced and high-performance work environment.
The role requires exceptional organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel as well as willingness to play an active role focused on strategic execution at the highest levels. As CoS you will be contributing to large-scale & highly visible initiatives focused on driving growth and operational excellence, including but not limited to: supporting critical business priorities for the Chief Communications Officer, strategic business planning, growth initiatives, and providing business analysis to support decision-making.
Collaboration across functions and geographies is vital as the CoS will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities, simultaneously balancing short-term and long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands.
This role would suit a self-starter with a ‘roll-up-your sleeves’ attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to respond to requests with urgency, organization, and enthusiasm in a professional environment.
This role operates under the highest levels of confidentiality. Someone who is adept at quickly assimilating information and condensing key themes, understanding the next steps, and able to construct and deliver on action plans will thrive in this role. Responsibilities and Impact:
Efficiency and Effectiveness
Work closely with key team members to enhance the Chief Communications Officer and Communications leadership team to provide direction-setting, problem identification and solving, decision alignment, speed and transparent communication. Develop strong working relationships with the Communications & OCEO team and other key internal stakeholders.
Help the Chief Communications Officer support the team by gathering information and synthesizing views. Surface, connect and translate "the dots".
Support Communications activities: development of Communications board reports and updates and support executive events, as required.
Help the Chief Communications Office maximize her time within a strategic framework. Help identify, organize, and bring to the Chief Communications Officer critical issues and required information to help improve decision making and problem-solving.
Support effective flow of information and decisions for the Chief Communications Officer.
Help manage and track stakeholder engagement and follow-up in coordination with the Chief Communications Officer’s Executive Assistant. Facilitate regular outreach and touchpoints as needed.
Support Communication team projects, strategic offsites & other events.
Contribute to creating new Communications & OCEO efficiencies and capabilities, to support the team better
Project Leadership
Execution of selected key initiatives or projects and additional duties as assigned by the Chief Communications Officer.
Monitor and maintain an inventory of critical path projects in which the team is especially interested and/or for which awareness and involvement is essential.
Determine the proper course of action and ensure all issues are addressed properly and efficiently and keep track of progress until complete.
Communications
Potential to collaborate and support internal and external communications of the Chief Communications Officer
As needed, help prepare briefing packets and meetings for Chief Communications Officer and related executive meetings or events.
Other Performance Enablers
Partner with communications, strategy, legal, IR, people, finance, technology, and division teams to support collaboration with the Chief Communications Officer.
Support the Chief Communications Officer in monitoring internal data related to organizational performance (P&L, KPI reporting etc.) and external insights about markets and competition.
Analyze statistics, research data, KPIs and company/country data as needed on an ad-hoc basis.
Develop and implement AI and automation solutions to make our work more productive and efficient
Execute additional responsibilities as directed by the Chief Communications Officer and Communications Leadership Team.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $126,676 to $221,434. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
8+ years’ experience in financial or professional services preferred; strong knowledge of S&P Global’s businesses, products, and services required.
At least 5 years of business experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives, financial analysis and/or general business administration.
Significant experience interacting with senior leaders.
Broad range of experience with analysis tools and frameworks.
Experience developing and implementing AI / automation solutions to increase productivity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling with data in PowerPoint and Excel.
Strong communication and facilitation together with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization to drive business results without ego.
The demonstrated ability to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities, simultaneously addressing the urgency of immediate demands with long-term projects, with a track record of successfully juggling multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
Ability to represent the role and the Communications team with a style that is aligned with the Chief Communications Officer; maturity to work with confidence, urgency, diplomacy, humility; requires a high degree of confidentiality across all levels.
Experience managing demanding deadlines, changing requirements, and at times, working with limited resources and ambiguity.
Proven ability to navigate effectively and efficiently within a large matrixed organization.
Very high standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness.
Ability to handle confidential information with absolute discretion and unquestioned ethics.
Ability to demonstrate resilience and a strong EQ to engage diplomatically, constructively, and collaboratively with stakeholders.
An undergraduate or equivalent degree or equivalent work experience.
