SALARY: The hourly rate for this role is $16.50 per hour.
VACANCY TYPE: This posting reflects a vacant position.
SHIFT: This role operates on a variable schedule, with shifts changing week to week based on evolving taproom demands. Taproom operating hours fall between 10:00 AM and 12:00 AM, and candidates must be available to work a range of shifts within this window, including evenings and weekends as required.
Overtime Eligibility: This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable labour laws and pursuant with collective agreement. Overtime is paid at the legally required rate and may vary based on hours worked beyond the standard schedule.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Service
Greet customers warmly as they enter the brewery and provide a positive first impression.
Assist customers in selecting beers and make recommendations based on their preferences.
Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that customers receive prompt and attentive service.
Inform customers of all specials, releases, and events happening in the Taproom.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and courteous manner.
Beer Knowledge and Education
Have a comprehensive understanding of the brewery's beer offerings, including styles, flavors, and ingredients.
Have an up-to-date knowledge of features, and menu items, including allergens and ingredients.
Educate customers about different beer options, brewing processes, and beer pairings.
Offer tasting notes and beer flights to showcase the brewery's products and enhance customer experience.
Be able to facilitate and execute brewery tours to customers that are thorough, informative, and aligned with Banded Peak’s values.
Report any “off” flavour or damaged beer using the Banded Peak’s Quality Assurance SOP.
Cleanliness and Organization
Maintain a clean and tidy taproom environment, including tables, bar counters, and seating areas.
Complete and sign off on daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists before the end of designated shift.
Ensure that glassware is sanitized and polished.
Monitor and provide back-up stock for things such as napkins, and off sales, and kegs as needed.
Directly inform management of any missing or required items needed for stock, cleaning, and organization.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Sales and Upselling
Actively promote brewery merchandise, such as t-shirts, hats, and glassware, to increase sales and brand visibility.
Encourage customers to try new or seasonal beer offerings and upsell larger sizes, beer cocktails, and food menu items.
Appropriately offer customers top-ups on beverages and food in a timely matter.
Provide information about brewery events and tours to generate additional revenue opportunities.
Cash Handling and POS (Point of Sale) Operations
Accurately process cash, credit card, using Shopify, and Toast POS.
Handle cash transactions responsibly and maintain accurate records of sales and transactions.
Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift and report any discrepancies to management.
Follow cash handling procedures and security protocols to prevent theft or fraud, or discrepancies.
Teamwork and Communication
Work cooperatively with all brewery staff members.
Communicate important and necessary information using designated company chats.
Communicate effectively with all brewery staff and brewery management to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.
Support fellow team members during busy periods and assist with tasks as needed to maintain high service standards.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by treating everyone with respect and professionalism.
No harassment, discrimination, or hostile behaviour will be tolerated.
Compliance and Responsible Service
Ensure compliance with all relevant alcohol laws and regulations, including age verification and responsible service of alcohol. It is necessary to ID everyone that appears to be under the age of 25.
Monitor customer behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or disruptive behavior.
Follow brewery policies and standard operating procedures regarding responsible service practices and code of conduct.
Report and document any incidents that occur before the end of your shift.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be over the age of 18 with a valid ProServe Certification.
Serving and bartending experience considered an asset.
