Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Interior and Exterior Detailer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation for our vehicles. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that each vehicle is meticulously cleaned and maintained both inside and out, providing our customers with a pristine and welcoming experience.
As an Interior and Exterior Detailer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including thorough cleaning of all interior areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces. This involves wiping down surfaces, sanitizing countertops, cleaning appliances, and scrubbing sinks, toilets, and showers to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. You will also handle laundry duties, including washing and drying linens and towels, as well as washing dishes, utensils, and cookware.
In addition to cleaning duties, you will be expected to report any repairs or maintenance issues needed to the Preparations Manager promptly. You will also maintain and care for all equipment used in your duties, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly stored.
This position is based at a smaller station, where flexibility and teamwork are essential. The successful candidate will be expected to support various areas of the business as needed, including cross-training in departments such as Workshop, Guest Services and other operational functions. Essential Duties and responsibilities
Interior Detailing
• Thoroughly clean all interior areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces.
• Wipe down surfaces, sanitize countertops, clean appliances, scrub sinks, toilets, and showers.
• Ensure all areas are free of dirt and grime using various cleaning chemicals.
• Wash and dry linens, towels, and other fabrics used in the RVs.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware, either by hand or using a dishwasher.
• Load and unload the washing machine and dryer.
• Wash, dry, and re-package dishes, utensils, and cookware from returned units.
• Remove all kits, garbage, linens, and additional items from the units.
• Prepare and organize linen and kitchen kits as requested by guests.
Exterior Detailing
• Undertake comprehensive vehicle exterior cleaning as per the established schedule.
• Clean all exterior surfaces meticulously, including windows, storage compartments, tire surfaces, and body panels.
• Report any needed repairs or maintenance issues immediately to the Preparations Manager.
• Operate various cleaning equipment, including power washers, vacuum cleaners, and specialized detailing tools.
• Maintain and care for all equipment used in performing duties.
• Project a professional company image, being mindful of the cost and efficient use of cleaning materials.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Actively communicate with the Preparations Manager/Supervisor regarding any problems or issues with equipment or vehicles.
• Consult the electronic scheduling system daily to stay updated on schedules, tasks, and any special instructions or changes to the cleaning routine.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members to achieve daily targets and complete tasks efficiently.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Preparations Manager/Supervisor.
• Maintain a safety-conscious attitude, prioritizing safety in all tasks and responsibilities.
Skill Set, Education, and Experience
• Prior experience in automotive detailing or housekeeping is highly valued and considered a strong asset. This background provides a solid foundation for the skills and attention to detail required in this role.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is considered an asset. This includes the ability to drive company vehicles as needed and ensuring safe and responsible driving practices.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail while managing multiple priorities. This includes ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards, even when working under pressure or with tight deadlines.
• Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including repetitive actions such as bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to handle the rigors of the job consistently.
• Possesses a positive attitude and high energy level, contributing to a productive and enjoyable work environment. This includes being enthusiastic about the work and maintaining a positive outlook, even during challenging tasks.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multitask effectively. This includes being able to switch between tasks as needed and handle unexpected changes or challenges with ease.
• Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions. This includes being prepared to work in inclement weather, such as rain, snow, or extreme heat, while maintaining the quality of work.
• Must be available to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, for the duration of the season. This includes being flexible with scheduling and willing to work during peak times to meet operational needs.
Working Conditions
• Seasonal: This position is seasonal, with employment during specific times of the year.
• Physical Demands: The role involves pushing, pulling, and lifting cleaning equipment and supplies, which can be physically strenuous. Employees must be capable of handling these tasks regularly. The job involves repetitive tasks and requires standing for extended periods. Employees must have the physical stamina to perform these duties consistently.
• Exposure to Weather Conditions: Since a significant portion of the work is done outdoors, lot attendants are exposed to different weather conditions. They need to dress appropriately for the weather and be able to perform their duties regardless of the conditions.
• Exposure to Dust and Chemicals: The work environment may expose employees to heavy dust, as well as various housekeeping and disinfecting solutions. Proper safety measures and protective gear are essential to minimize health risks.
• Shift Work: Employees may be required to work shifts that include weekends, statutory holidays, and public holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is important to meet operational needs.
• Overtime: During peak periods, such as busy seasons or special events, overtime may be available. Employees should be prepared to work additional hours as needed to meet demand.
