What you’ll do:
An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Core Infrastructure Platform for a Senior Infrastructure Specialist within the team supporting our data network. As our organisation continues to evolve and grow, the role of the Senior Infrastructure Specialist is crucial in ensuring the security and integrity of our network infrastructure.
Our team is responsible for managing a diverse range of networking solutions in LBG Data Centres and connectivity to our multiple Cloud environments. This enables us to protect highly confidential data and support our business-critical operations.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise broadly and quickly. We support a variety of technology delivery routes, allowing you to become a well-rounded Senior Infrastructure Specialist. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and be part of a team that values innovation and continuous improvement.
You will need to deliver product and service improvement activities to a successful conclusion, ensuring we become the best bank for customers. This will involve working with a team of dedicated colleagues, developing with them and building capabilities. Additionally, you'll demonstrate an ability and desire to engage with our internal customers throughout the initiative lifecycle, delivering their requirements and acting to prioritise and resolve issues within the team.
Your accountabilities will include:
•
Acting as a contact point for business engagement for this bank-critical infrastructure.
•
Planning the implementation of complex changes.
•
Delivering changes of all sizes for our customers.
•
Delivery of infrastructure currency and service improvement plans.
•
Prioritisation, handling expectations, and guiding the business through the infrastructure change process.
What you’ll need:
We are seeking Senior Infrastructure Specialists who have experience with one or more of these technologies :
•
Cisco Data Centre architecture and design.
•
Advanced Cisco Infrastructure via Automation.
•
Software defined and application-centric networking using spine and leaf architecture.
•
Understanding of connecting to Third Party Networks, e.g. fixed links, VPNs etc.
•
Knowledge of Firewall Policies, how they are defined and secured.
•
Strong understanding of Cloud Networking and connectivity options.
•
Clear and deep understanding of Infoblox and DDI.
For a role in one of the data networks teams, you should be CCNP certified (or possess equivalent experience) and have a background in working with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and/or DevOps. Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail are essential.
Candidates must have strong communication and collaboration skills, along with experience in managing third-party suppliers. You should have a proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to understand their needs and turn them into effective technical solutions.
Nice to have skills:
Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow - particularly in Incident, Change, and Problem Management would be beneficial.
Experience with Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling is desirable with proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, Jenkins, Harness, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud-Native provisioning templates.
