About this role
Piper Companies is seeking a Platform Engineer to support a leading data center provider in strengthening and scaling their cloud and infrastructure environments. The Platform Engineer will focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), security hardening, and compliance alignment with SOC 2 and NIST frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for scalable and secure environments
- Implement and manage VPC configurations, subnets, routing, and traffic controls to ensure secure and efficient cloud networking
- Apply system hardening standards and best practices aligned with SOC 2 and NIST compliance requirements
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewall technologies and security controls
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance and security events using CloudWatch and related observability tools
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform and other IaC tools
- Solid understanding of VPC architecture, traffic flows, routing, and cloud network security
- Experience implementing controls aligned to SOC 2 and/or NIST standards
- Proficiency with firewall configuration, traffic management, and network security tooling
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch or similar cloud monitoring frameworks
