Cotality is a company focused on making the property industry faster, smarter, and more people-centric. They are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will design, build, and optimize a modern data ecosystem, bridging the gap between various teams and ensuring data performance and compliance, particularly in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and build robust, consistent, and non-redundant Dimensional Models within the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to solve specific business use cases, ensuring optimal performance for PowerBI consumption
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines, leveraging Matillion and ADF for orchestration, and PySpark for intricate data transformations
- Manage and optimize the data footprint across key platforms, including MS SQL Server, Snowflake, and the MS Fabric environment
- Integrate AI tools (Copilots, LLM-based automation, or predictive features) into our data workflows to increase efficiency and data quality
- Work closely with our Global Development Centers to ensure architectural consistency while acting as a primary technical partner for Product and Customer Success teams
- Transform complex insurance domain logic into clean, reliable datasets that our Data Analysts can trust implicitly
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years experience
- Engineering or BS degree
- Expert SQL & Python: You can write complex queries in your sleep and build robust, modular scripts in Python/PySpark
- Deep experience with Snowflake (warehousing) and MS Fabric (the future)
- Proven track record with Matillion or similar cloud-native orchestration tools
- You know how to handle high-volume, high-velocity data without breaking the bank or the server
- You aren't just curious about AI; you're actively using AI tools to speed up development or enhance data insights
- Experience with policy, claims, or underwriting data is a massive plus. You understand the difference between a premium and a loss ratio
- You've mastered the art of asynchronous communication and thrive in a US-Remote environment
