TE Connectivity is a global industrial technology leader committed to creating a safer, sustainable, and connected future. As a Senior Field Applications Engineer, you will serve as the technical face of the company's ICT new technology connector solutions, partnering with account managers and customers to drive new business through engineering support and design-in guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with TE account managers to support end customers with hands-on engineering and design-in guidance that drives new, incremental business for TE's new-technology ICT portfolio
- Serve as the technical lead in customer engagements—translating application requirements into connector and interconnect recommendations across electrification (e-mobility), high-speed data connectivity, and electromechanical solutions
- Support customers through specification and validation activities to ensure TE products are correctly selected, integrated, and performance-ready for vehicle platforms and related systems
- Identify new applications, market trends, and competitive benchmarks by capturing voice of the customer—bringing forward unmet needs and performance gaps to help influence customer and TE roadmaps
- Balance support across multiple stakeholders and accounts, working independently in the field while collaborating closely with product management, engineering, and the broader commercial team
Requirements:
- 5+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience), ideally in a customer-facing field applications, applications engineering, or technical sales role
- Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, or a related STEM discipline such as physics or math) with strong ability to translate customer requirements into practical, design-in product recommendations
- Experience with connectors/interconnect systems strongly preferred; exposure to high-speed data connectivity, electrification/e-mobility, and electromechanical products is highly valued (wire harness/cable assembly experience is a plus)
- Ability to operate as a 'utility player' across multiple product categories—supporting several account managers and customer programs simultaneously while prioritizing effectively
- Proven customer-facing communication skills—comfortable presenting, educating, and influencing technical decisions, while capturing voice of the customer, competitive benchmarks, and unmet needs
- Self-directed and organized working style, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with sales, product management, and engineering to support business and roadmap goals
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar STEM discipline such as Physics or Math)
- Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in field applications, applications engineering, or a technical customer-facing role supporting design-in activity
- Strong technical aptitude with hands-on knowledge of connectors and interconnect systems; familiarity with cable assemblies/wire harness applications and high-speed data connectivity is a plus
- Ability to bridge TE products to customer designs—translating requirements into correct product specification, application fit, and validation support across e-mobility, high-speed data connectivity, and electromechanical product lines
- Confident, customer-facing communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly, educate distributor/end-customer engineering teams, and support technical discussions alongside account managers
- Experience capturing and communicating Voice of the Customer (e.g., unmet needs, performance gaps, competitive benchmarking) to help influence internal roadmaps and identify new application opportunities
- Strong organizational skills and a self-directed work style—comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and priorities with minimal day-to-day oversight in a remote environment
- Willingness to travel as needed to support customer and distributor engagement
