Charles River Laboratories is an early-stage contract research organization focused on improving health and well-being globally. They are seeking a Mechanical/Architectural Engineering Intern to assist their Global Engineering team with various projects related to building systems and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist our Global Engineering team (remote)
- Support the development, maintenance, and optimization of building and facilities-related systems
- Assisting with equipment assessments
- Updating engineering documentation
- Collecting and analyzing system performance data
- Collaborating with Facilities Engineering staff on projects involving HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems
- Support ongoing efforts to develop and enhance the site facility analytics database
- Engaged in data collection, manipulation, and results presentation
- Work directly with the Charles River Labs Engineering and Sustainability Teams
- Provide exposure to real-world facility operations, troubleshooting, and project execution in a fast-paced engineering environment
- Provide opportunities to present to small groups in a safe and encouraging environment to help build on public speaking and executive presence
Requirements:
- Student currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to fulfill internship position obligations based on summer break timing, potentially May - August
- Effective communication and listening skills in a teamwork environment
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with a strong attention to detail
- Possess proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa
