Piper Companies is seeking a Network Security Engineer to support a growing organization within the technology industry. The Network Security Engineer will play a critical role in strengthening the company’s security posture through governance frameworks, network hardening, and hands-on configuration of enterprise security tools.
Responsibilities:
- Implement, maintain, and optimize network security controls aligned with NIST 800‑53 and SOC 2 requirements
- Conduct internal security audits, risk assessments, and evidence collection to support compliance initiatives
- Harden network infrastructure through secure configuration practices and continuous monitoring
- Manage and improve security tools including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to respond to incidents, analyze threats, and coordinate remediation activities
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of hands‑on network security engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of NIST 800‑53 and SOC 2 trust service criteria and audit expectations
- Proficiency with enterprise security tools (firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management)
- Demonstrated experience configuring and hardening network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Familiarity with incident analysis, threat detection, and SOC workflows
