The Lead Project Engineer will manage and execute complex hardware and software systems on airborne platforms, leading cross-functional engineering teams to ensure program success from inception through delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Leading cross-disciplinary engineering teams in executing program activities and supporting bid/proposal efforts
- Providing technical leadership to resolve design and integration challenges, especially for Electronic Attack Mission Systems and Digital ICS products
- Detailed program planning, guidance, and ensuring engineering efforts adhere to scope, schedule, and budget constraints
- Tracking performance metrics, briefing senior leadership on program status, and managing cost and schedule variances, developing corrective strategies as needed
- Ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards
- Maintaining close communication with customers throughout the program lifecycle, documenting technical progress, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within engineering teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of experience
- Candidates with no degree but a minimum of 13 years of related experience will also be considered
- Demonstrated expertise in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget
- Experience in aircraft integration, testing, and delivery
- Solid understanding of engineering processes and policies
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) clearance
- Leadership experience in roles such as Task Leader or IPT Leader
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed
