7Seventy Recruiting is seeking an AWS Data Engineer to help build and maintain modern data platforms designed for scalable analytics and reporting. The role focuses on developing reliable data pipelines and lakehouse architectures using AWS technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support analytics initiatives and ensure data reliability across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement dimensional and normalized data models optimized for analytical workloads
- Develop and maintain modern data lakehouse architectures using AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift Spectrum, and AWS Lake Formation
- Build, monitor, and optimize batch and near real-time ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon Kinesis, and AWS Step Functions
- Ingest structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from APIs, databases, streaming platforms, and external systems
- Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using AWS CloudFormation or CDK along with CI/CD pipelines
- Support analytics and model-training initiatives by preparing datasets and ensuring reliable data availability
- Perform data analysis and create visualizations using AWS QuickSight
- Ensure high-quality data flows by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and improving pipeline reliability
- Collaborate with analytics engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience working with AWS data services including Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Lake Formation, Amazon Redshift, Athena, and IAM
- 4+ years of experience in data modeling for data warehouses or lakehouse architectures
- 4+ years of experience developing and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for data workloads
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders
- Experience working in remote engineering environments
- Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
