Staff Software Engineer

People In AI is a well-funded, early-stage AI startup focused on building a next-gen research assistant powered by large language models. They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer who will design and build intuitive UIs for AI workflows while collaborating with ML and backend teams to create seamless user experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build intuitive, performant UIs for complex AI workflows
• Collaborate with ML and backend teams to deliver seamless, LLM-powered experiences
• Prototype and ship user-facing features with a high degree of autonomy
• Lead frontend architecture and contribute to cross-cutting product decisions
• Drive continuous improvements in UX, code quality, and developer tooling

Requirements:

• Experience building production-grade software
• Expertise in frontend development using TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind
• Solid backend fluency in Python or Node; comfortable going full stack when needed
• Experience working on or integrating ML-powered applications
• A strong product sense and focus on user outcomes, not just technical output
• High agency, startup experience, and a low-ego, collaborative mindset
