Software Engineer – Data Migrations

Recruit22 is partnering with a fast‐growing healthcare technology company to identify a Software Engineer specializing in Data Migrations. The role focuses on building high‐quality, repeatable pipelines for healthcare data migrations, ensuring accuracy and reliability while collaborating with various teams to resolve customer data issues.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and own ETL pipelines that extract, transform, validate, and load healthcare data using Python and SQL
• Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring to ensure accurate, complete, and repeatable migrations
• Balance one‐off scripts with long‐term, reusable data flows based on business needs
• Collaborate with product, implementation, and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer data issues
• Contribute to migration standards, templates, and internal tools that improve speed and reliability across customers
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, bringing strong judgment and prior experience

Requirements:

• 6–8+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering, including multiple roles with 2+ years of tenure
• Background in roles such as Data Engineer, ETL Engineer, Data Integration Engineer, or Software Engineer (data pipelines)
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for building and operating ETL/ELT workflows
• A mindset focused on 100% correctness and completeness, especially in regulated or high‐stakes environments
• Ability to independently structure ambiguous migration problems into clear, repeatable solutions
• Comfortable collaborating with non‐engineering teams; customer-facing experience is a plus
• Experience with healthcare data (claims, eligibility, EHR/EMR, HL7/FHIR, clinical data, etc.) is a significant plus
• Nice to have: Experience with TypeScript or modern web application stacks
