The Squires Group, Inc. is an award winning global integrator supporting a large federal security and background‑screening contract. They are seeking a Software Security Engineer to join their team, focusing on protecting enterprise systems, improving secure software development practices, and ensuring compliance with high‑level security standards.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor and safeguard systems against threats and vulnerabilities
- Perform secure code reviews to strengthen software quality and reduce risk
- Test, evaluate, and validate security tools and applications
- Identify root causes of security issues and recommend mitigation strategies
- Implement and maintain security-related tools, automations, and configurations
- Educate development teams on secure coding best practices
- Contribute to design efforts for security-focused software solutions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizens with an ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity or secure software engineering experience
- Strong understanding of application security, threat mitigation, and secure development practices
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across distributed teams
