Assistant Project Manager - High Voltage

William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support documentation and QA/QC activities for multiple projects. The role involves collaborating with site superintendents to optimize the use of labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing scheduling of subcontractors on site
• Receiving and checking quality of materials
• Completing QA/QC checklists
• Submittals (material approvals)
• RFI’s (general questions)
• Preparing official documents for the project, routing and finalizing
• Preparing projects reports as needed
• Back up documentation
• Close-outs final quantities
• Proposing/ negotiation extra work
• Special projects within the Project Management function as necessary
• Other duties as assigned by the Project Management Department

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred). A combination of education & experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
• 2 to 4 years of Medium/High Voltage substation and transmission line construction industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
• Experience with Project Management systems, such as Procore, Build2Win, MS Project and/or P6 and, HCSS
• Strong analytical skills. Comfortable with Microsoft processing tools including MS Word and Excel
• Ability to read and understand contracts
• Detail oriented, good organization skills
• Ability to communicate well with others, both written and orally
• Functional knowledge of job cost accounting
• Understanding of CPM scheduling
• Must be capable of up to 75% travel (e.g. 3 weeks or 15 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing
