MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-oriented, and customer-focused Junior Database Administrator to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Perform routine database administration tasks including backups, restores, patching, and upgrades. Support database performance monitoring and tuning efforts.
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution under supervision of senior DBAs.
• Maintain database security, including user account management and access controls. Support disaster recovery planning and testing activities.
• Setting up and maintaining SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and/or Failover Cluster Instances.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure compliance with DoD and organizational cybersecurity policies and STIG requirements.
• Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure database systems meet performance and security requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in field necessary to assume Junior Database Administrator duties
  • High School Diploma and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
  • A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
• 6+ months experience of performing work related to database administration.
•  Certification requirement: Security+ and Azure Admin Cert (AZ-104)
• Basic knowledge of database concepts including indexing, normalization, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Experience with SQL scripting and query optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting DoD environments.
• Familiarity with database STIG implementation and compliance.
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
• Knowledge of automation or scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• May occasionally move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
