Description
The Donation Sorting Associate is responsible for sorting donated items by type, quality, or category to prepare them for further processing, resale, or distribution, following all company procedures and safety guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other responsibilities may be assigned):
- Sort donated items by type, size, and condition, and prepare merchandise for shipment.
- Separate items for resale, recycling, or disposal.
- Meets or exceeds hourly production goals, ensuring daily goals are met.
- Maintains a clean, neat, stocked processing area and a safe and secure facility.
- Follow safety procedures and company guidelines while handling donations.
- Assist with inventory tracking or labeling as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 months of retail customer service experience is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Demonstrate consistent, positive behavior with internal and external customers.
- Seeing the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, inventory and other resources.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Continually able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention.
- Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, and store merchandising.
- Continually able to walk up and down a staircase, carrying boxes, products, and other necessary store-related items.
- Ability to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean.
- Ability to safely lift boxes up to 55 lbs.
