
Radiology Tech - Meritus Urgent Care

At Meritus Health’s Urgent Care clinics, timely and accurate imaging is essential to rapid diagnosis and treatment. As a Radiologic Technologist in this outpatient setting, you’ll perform a wide range of diagnostic radiology procedures for patients of all ages presenting with acute injuries and illnesses. You’ll work closely with providers to deliver high-quality images that support immediate clinical decisions in a fast-paced, walk-in environment.
This role is ideal for a flexible, detail-oriented technologist who thrives in urgent care and values both technical precision and compassionate patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
Operate and maintain digital radiography equipment with competence and care
Prepare exam rooms, organize supplies, and clean radiographic areas to ensure readiness and safety
Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and assist other staff members as needed
Obtain and document clinical information from patients accurately
Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences immediately
Record pertinent patient information in QA logs, electronic systems, and reports
Serve as a resource to other staff, offering guidance and support as needed
Assist with outpatient medical assisting duties (e.g., vitals, medical history documentation) when appropriate and after demonstrated competency

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Completion of an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
Experience
One year of experience as a radiographer preferred
Licensure/Certification
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
Licensure by the State of Maryland as a Radiologic Technologist required
Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with Meritus Health policy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in radiographic techniques and digital imaging equipment
Strong understanding of anatomy, positioning, and radiation safety principles
Ability to prepare and administer contrast medications safely
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
