Description
Mercy Home for Children is a non profit agency working with the intellectual and developmental disabled adult population. We manage 13 residences and have the privilege of taking care of 108 individuals. We are shinning the spotlight on hiring a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional to work in our Psychology Department and be part of the team. If you are able to handle the following duties, below then we want to speak with you.
- Develop and supervise the implementation of the Staff Action Plan (SAP)/Residential Habilitation Plan (RHP), goals and the Individualized Protective Oversight Plan (IPOP).
- Monitor the integration of services and make changes in the objectives of the SAP (RHP/IPOP)
- Analyze the data based on the execution of the RHP to monitor the progress of individuals and write the monthly progress notes.
- Perform observations and spot checks to monitor the implementation of goals. Retrain staff and revise goals as needed based on observations and clinical recommendations. (Your flexibility is needed in this area, early mornings & evenings)
- Attend Life Plan (Individualized Service Plan) meetings (Annual review and 6-month review), monthly staff meetings, and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings.
- Ensure the quality of staff in delivering and providing the necessary supports and supervision to each individual served by providing supervision, coaching, training, etc.
- Maintain contact with the individual’s family, Care Manager, Behavior Intervention Specialists, Day Program, treatment centers, and other Mercy Home programs to ensure continuity of services.
- Oversee many of the clinical services, as well as operational services for the individuals/classes within assigned programs.
- Participate in the screening of potential residents.
- Adhere to the Agency’s Policy and Procedures.
- Perform all other tasks/duties as assigned by the Director of Psychology
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following professional categories (including, but not limited to) human services, sociology, special education, rehabilitation, counseling, psychology or related field required
- MA degree is preferred
- Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License required
- SCIP-R Certification preferred
- One year experience working directly with people with intellectual disabilities or individuals with physical and/or related developmental disabilities and co-morbid psychiatric diagnoses
