Senior Data Analyst

About the Role

Behavioral Health Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization.

In this role, you will work closely with executive leadership and operational teams to develop scalable reporting solutions, automate workflows, and improve the quality and accessibility of critical business data.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex datasets, building automated reporting systems, and developing analytics tools that directly impact business performance.

What You'll Do

Data & Reporting

• Build, maintain, and improve Power BI datasets, models, and dashboards used by operational and executive leadership.
• Design reporting frameworks that provide clear, reliable, and actionable business insights.
• Develop automated reporting processes and workflows using Power Automate and Power BI.
• Ensure reporting accuracy through data validation, reconciliation, and documentation of metric definitions.

Data Integration & Analysis

• Retrieve and integrate data from multiple cloud-based systems including: Electronic Health Records (EHR), Billing and collections platforms, Accounting systems, Payroll systems, CRM and project management platforms
• Clean, structure, and validate datasets to support consistent and reliable reporting.
• Analyze operational and financial performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Automation & Process Improvement

• Reduce manual reporting through automation and scalable data workflows.
• Develop tools that improve forecasting, operational monitoring, and performance tracking.
• Strengthen reliability of recurring reporting through monitoring, error handling, and documentation.

Strategic Support

• Collaborate with leadership to identify key metrics and reporting needs.
• Translate business questions into analytical solutions.
• Provide insights that support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.

Skills & Competencies

Data Analysis & Engineering

• Strong SQL skills for querying, joining, and shaping large datasets.
• Experience using Python for data cleaning, transformation, and automation.
• Experience working with large datasets and scalable workflows beyond Excel limitations.
• Strong focus on data quality, validation, and reproducible analysis processes.

Reporting & Automation

• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Expertise in Power BI, including dataset modeling, dashboards, and access control.
• Experience with Power Automate or similar tools to automate reporting and data workflows.
• Ability to design reporting structures that enforce secure access and data permissions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Athena One or Athena Data View (or similar healthcare analytics environments).
• Familiarity with revenue cycle analytics, including billing, denials, collections, and aging.
• Exposure to cloud data warehouse environments such as Azure, AWS, or Snowflake.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or analytics roles
• Proven experience building automated reporting solutions and scalable data workflows
• Experience supporting executive leadership with data-driven insights

• Healthcare industry experience is helpful but not required.
