ON Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated Third Shift Manufacturing Process Technician to support and maintain Product and Measurement Processes throughout the Fab. During your shift, you will support the 24x5 manufacturing of wafers used in Automotive and Consumer applications throughout the world. In this team based environment, you will work closely with process and device engineers to execute new product, process, and yield improvement activities while monitoring, auditing, and providing guidance to line operators on a daily basis. Successful candidates will be self-motivated problem solver. They will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment requiring strong teaming skills with engineers, managers, and production members.
Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations including:
- Performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts
- Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
- Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
- Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
- Interface with a team of engineers, technicians and line operators in a fast paced manufacturing environment on a daily basis.
- Communicate clearly and concisely using the established methods, especially on shift-to-shift pass-downs and documentation of observed issues related to product being manufactured or equipment condition.
- Within the first two months, you will learn how to operate most of the measurement equipment in the manufacturing line and certain manufacturing equipment that has not yet be turned over to production. In addition, you will be able to set up and execute experiments properly utilizing the established systems.
- Within the first six months you will be expected to handle certain product disposition and interpret and respond to certain SPC (Statistical Process Control) violations. You may be asked to participate on a team to solve a yield issue or to drive continuous improvement in a specific area. You may also be asked to help write an operating procedure and train line operators on a new process or procedure.
- Associate’s Degree in Technology/Engineering/Sciences or other relevant technical degree preferred.
- Demonstrated manufacturing experience, preferably in semiconductor wafer manufacturing.
- Organized, detail oriented individual able to succeed in a team based environment
- Effectively communicate with line operators other technicians and engineers both orally and written
- Prioritize and multi-task on a daily basis
- Basic computer skills in MS Excel and Word
- Basic understanding of SPC principles
