
Job Title: Desktop and System Support Technician – Junior
Job Summary
The DSST – Junior will provide plant level technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software. Your goal will be to ensure optimal performance and reliability for our users, contributing to a seamless technological experience.
Responsibilities
Communicate electronically and in person to provide first-level support for desktop, laptop, phone system and peripheral issues through prompt troubleshooting and resolution of user requests.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, software updates, and perform data backups and recoveries.
Assist users with account and device setup, password resets, and access permissions.
Purchase and maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
Consult user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions. Document issues and resolutions in the service desk ticketing system for future reference.
Collaborate with the IT team on system upgrades and maintenance.
Provide advice and training to users on best practices for IT security and software usage.
Participate in training sessions for new software or hardware deployments.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding IT usage.

Academic/Educational Requirements
Required Skills/Experience
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in desktop support or a related IT support role.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as common business applications.
Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and remote support tools.
Familiarity working with networking concepts and troubleshooting.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Continuous learning to update technical knowledge. Learn by reading solution logs, help files, manuals, newsletters and trade publications, and through trial and error. Discuss computer malfunctions with co-workers and software suppliers.
