Maintenance and Reliability Manager

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance and Reliability Manager will be a key member of the site leadership team that is responsible for leading the maintenance team.

• Attend departmental and plant Daily Management meetings for the purpose of identifying focus areas for Reliability team
• Develop and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all critical equipment. 
• Ensure equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with our Quality Assurance programs 
• Ability to improve processes and implement reliability systems to optimize resource costs while meeting expectations.
• Organize staff, direct and control maintenance operations to ensure that plant objectives are achieved in an effective and efficient manner
• Manage asset requirements to ensure operational requirements are met for the whole lifecycle
• Develop implementation plans, including budget and resource plans for all Reliability/Maintenance projects
• Collaborate with Plant & Corporate Engineering Teams to optimize equipment availability
• Provide accurate forecasting and ensure adherence to departmental budgets
• Provide day-to-day leadership of team, including hiring, development and performance management
• Participate in site audits (safety and Safe Quality Foods), ensuring action items are completed on time and on budget
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades and capital projects.

 

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation, or a Red Seal trade certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Electrician.
• Maintenance Management Professional Accreditation (or willing to work towards)
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to create and manage preventative maintenance plans and manage capital projects from a maintenance and reliability standpoint 
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability and experience managing a budget
