The Big Picture
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer works with suppliers to continuously improve performance of key components (reduce scrap, improve process stability and performance) by implementing process controls and develop quality assurance plans.
Tracks data, identifies improvement projects and manages cross-functional implementations to improve supplier performance. This position requires leadership skills that would enable the Senior SQE to drive major Quality improvement projects across functions (Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain).
Your Impact Through Innovation
- Conduct supplier quality audits (ISO 9001 / 13485) on a regular basis to ensure vendors and their supplies remain in compliance with Baylis Medical Technologies standards
- Promote the use of CI techniques at Suppliers to help them reduce variability and achieve process control
- Initiate and follow-up SCAR to ensure complete and effective RCA and Corrective Action implementation
- Lead Supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Baylis Medical Technologies requirements
- Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
- Maintain a supplier database and include performance evaluations and quality control audits in database
- Foster and evaluate Supplier Change Assessments, liaise with internal stakeholders and follow-up the change with supplier
- Develop positive relationships and effective lines of communication with Suppliers
- Participate in the NPI Qualification process, conduct qualification audit and close out audit reports in accordance with BMT goals
- May give technical guidance to Quality Inspectors, or other quality staff assigned to work on common projects
- Adhere to and promote the adherence to all Corporate, Quality and Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Your Unique Expertise
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years working experience specifically as a Supplier Quality Engineer
- Experience working in a regulated industry
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 or ISO 9001
- Prior Supplier Quality experience in manufacturing and analytical approach to problem solving
- Strong critical thinking, active listening, and time management skills to collaborate with suppliers and project management teams to define project deliverables
- Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn about new processes
- Strong organizational skills
- Advanced knowledge of quality related tools, including, but not limited to SPC, FMEA, MSA, DOE and Quality Systems
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and oral)
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time

This role has a base salary range of $90,000 CAD to $135,000 CAD. Final offers are determined based on individual skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
