Payroll Assistant Manager

Position Summary
The Payroll Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting payroll operations and related Human Resources processes for AEIL. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, maintains payroll systems and reporting, and helps support HR initiatives related to compensation, workforce data, and compliance.
This position manages payroll systems, reporting, and administrative processes, but does not include direct employee supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Support accurate and timely payroll processing using ADP and related systems
- Manage payroll transactions including hires, transfers, pay changes, and terminations
- Monitor payroll accuracy by tracking timekeeping issues, missed punches, and payroll corrections
- Administer wage garnishments, payroll deductions, and compensation adjustments
- Support bonus payroll processing and implementation of pay increases
- Prepare payroll reports including overtime, payroll summaries, and workforce metrics
- Maintain payroll databases and ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations
- Assist with annual payroll activities including W-2 preparation
- Train and support managers on payroll policies and payroll system usage
- Support HR operations including compensation administration, compliance activities, and reporting
- Assist with audits, reporting, and payroll process improvements
Qualifications
- Experience in payroll administration, Human Resources, or related field
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payroll deadlines
- Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is a plus
Work Environment
Office environment with regular interaction across departments. Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas may occur where safety equipment may be required.
