Data Engineer

UJET is a leader in AI-powered contact center innovation, offering a cloud platform that enhances customer experience. They are looking for a Data Engineer to build and operate scalable data systems, working closely with various teams to enable data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with analytics and finance teams to enable trusted metrics and dashboards in Looker
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and dbt
• Develop and optimize BigQuery data models for analytics and product use cases
• Implement ELT workflows and enforce best practices in dbt (testing, documentation, versioning)
• Integrate data workflows with backend services and APIs
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability
• Optimize performance and cost across BigQuery and data pipelines
• Support experimentation, reporting, and advanced analytics use cases
• Collaborate with CI/CD enhancements to existing process
• Participate in infrastructure decisions to implement data ingestions pipelines

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Solid experience with SQL and analytical data modeling
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery
• Production experience with dbt (dbt Labs)
• Experience building and maintaining analytics-ready datasets
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, code reviews)
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Composer)
• Experience with Looker (LookML, semantic modeling, dashboards)
• Background working with Product to gather requirements and understanding business needs
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Experience with streaming or event-based architectures
• Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails is a plus
